"When will people come to understand that words like
"development" and "improvement" don't always
have positive connotations? The insulating effect that the ferry
ride has had on such things at HI has been welcomed by me for
over 20 years. I have spent some very happy moments riding across
the channel, in anticipation of getting to a place where words
like "politics" and economy" mean a little less.
Now it seems they may be about to invade my quiet, green sanctuary.
If they do, it will be time to leave in search of another one."
